A short note on the one thing this site asks you for: your email address, if you want to hear when World 1 opens.

What we collect

Only the email address you type into the “Tell me when World 1 opens” box. No name, no account, no password. The site sets no cookies and runs no tracking or analytics.

Why

To do what the box says: We'll email you about Wainfare's launch and news. That means an email when the first world opens, and now and then a short piece of news before it. We don't sell or share your address, and we don't use it for anything else.

Where it is kept

The site doesn't keep your address at all. It passes it straight to our newsletter service, Buttondown, which stores it on Buttondown's servers in the United States and sends the emails. Buttondown also keeps the record of your consent: when you signed up and when you confirmed. Their own privacy policy is here. Like any website, our host keeps ordinary server logs for a short time.

Confirming, and leaving

After you sign up you'll get one email asking you to confirm; until you do, nothing else is sent. Every email has an unsubscribe link: one click and your address is taken off the list. You can also reply to any of our emails to ask what we hold, or to have it deleted.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page will say so first, and anything new will need your fresh agreement.
