The Miner
In their time
Miners dug tin in Cornwall and Devon, lead in the Pennines, Derbyshire and the Mendips, and iron and coal in places such as the Forest of Dean. Some mining communities held remarkable privileges: the tinners had their own stannary courts and freedom from many ordinary obligations, and the free miners of the Forest of Dean had customary rights of their own. The work was hard and dangerous, and the ore went on to the smelters.

What they need
A lead salt pan and an axe, without which the work can't be done. Also useful: a spade, a sickle, a pick, a basket and iron wedges.
How they learn
They learn mining by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
