Feverfew

A small, strong-smelling daisy-like plant, probably introduced from south-eastern Europe. Its Old English name, feferfuge, appears in the Leechbook and the Lacnunga, Anglo-Saxon medical collections, and it was believed to drive out fevers, as its name suggests. Later English herbalists also recommended it for headaches. It was grown in gardens and around houses.
Caveats (confidence: medium)
The Old English name could also denote centaury, another fever remedy; the headache use is recorded later (Culpeper).
