The Apprentice
In their time
An apprentice was bound by indenture to a master for a term of years, commonly seven in the towns, to learn a craft. He lived in the master's house, was fed and clothed, and was under his discipline, with the guild or town ready to intervene if either side broke the terms. At the end he might work as a journeyman or, with means, set up as a master and become a freeman of the town.

What they need
A lead salt pan, an axe, a hammer, an anvil, an adze, a stone hammer and a pit saw, without which the work can't be done. Also useful: a spade, a sickle, a basket, a knife, a pick and iron wedges.

This work trains no skill of its own.
