The Breeder
In their time
Deliberate stock breeding was mostly the business of great landholders: the crown and nobles kept studs to raise warhorses, and monasteries and large estates managed big flocks and herds, choosing which beasts to keep for breeding and which to sell or kill before winter. On ordinary holdings breeding was simply part of husbandry, done by the farmer or his herdsmen. Selective breeding as a specialist calling belongs more to the eighteenth century than to the Middle Ages.

What they need
No tools of their own.
How they learn
They learn breeding by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
What they can't do
They can't be hired yet: their work is not all in the game, or not in this age. They don't buy or sell; their script can't trade. Still to come: graze, move stock, cull and breed.
