The Fisherman
In their time
Fish mattered enormously because the Church forbade meat on fast days, including Fridays and all of Lent. Inland, fishing rights in rivers usually belonged to a lord or religious house, who leased them out or kept fishponds and weirs, and taking fish without leave was trespass. On the coast, fishing communities went after herring, cod and other catches, supplying salters and fishmongers. Fishermen were generally of modest standing, living by the season and the weather.

What they need
A lead salt pan and an axe, without which the work can't be done. Also useful: a spade, a sickle, a basket, a pick and iron wedges.
How they learn
They learn fishing by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
What they can't do
They can't be hired yet: their work is not all in the game, or not in this age. They don't buy or sell; their script can't trade. Still to come: fish.
