Land and livestock · from the first age
The Warden or hayward
Also hayward
In their time
On the manor the hayward, usually chosen from among the tenants, watched over the hedges and growing crops, impounded straying beasts and saw that fences were kept up; his title comes from the 'hay', or hedged enclosure. Parks and forests had their own keepers and wardens, who guarded deer and timber against poachers and answered to the lord or to the crown's forest officers. These were practical, local posts, respected but not grand.

No tools of their own.
How they learn
This work trains no skill of its own.
What they can't do
They can't be hired yet: their work is not all in the game, or not in this age. They don't buy or sell; their script can't trade. Still to come: patrol.
