The Band captain
In their time
In times of weak government, bands of armed men could terrorise a district: some were outlaws, some disbanded soldiers, and some the retainers of local lords pursuing private feuds. Their leaders might be gentry turned robbers, and several such gangs are recorded in the fourteenth century. Legends of outlaws such as Robin Hood grew in this soil. Such bands lived outside the law and fed on the insecurity of the roads.

What they need
No tools of their own.
How they learn
They learn raiding by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
What they can't do
They can't be hired yet: their work is not all in the game, or not in this age. They don't buy or sell; their script can't trade. Still to come: patrol.
