Arms · from the second age
The Soldier
In their time
Medieval English armies were raised by feudal obligation, by shire levies, and increasingly by contract: from the fourteenth century captains raised companies by indenture, paid by the crown for a campaign. Archers and men-at-arms served in France during the Hundred Years' War, and some came home wealthy. Between wars, many returned to ordinary life, while others lingered as unemployed fighting men who worried local authorities.

What they need
No tools of their own.
How they learn
They learn arms by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
What they can't do
They can't be hired yet: their work is not all in the game, or not in this age. They don't buy or sell; their script can't trade. Still to come: patrol.
