The Wainwright
In their time
A wain was a large farm wagon or cart, and wainwrights built them, often along with carts, ploughs and harrows. The trade overlapped heavily with the wheelwright's, and in many villages one family did both. Wainwrights were rural craftsmen serving farmers, manors and carriers, and the surname survives as a reminder of how common the work once was. They needed seasoned timber and a smith's ironwork.

What they need
A hammer, an adze, a chisel and a drawknife, without which the work can't be done. Also useful: a knife. They work at a wheelwright and wainwright shop.
How they learn
They learn wainwright by doing it: the work is practice, and practice raises their rank.
