Building material
Bricks
Clay → Bricks
Picture to come.
Fired clay building blocks. After the Romans left, brick-making lapsed in England for centuries; builders reused old Roman bricks instead. Coggeshall Abbey in Essex, begun in the mid-12th century, contains the earliest purpose-made medieval brick known in England. Brick therefore remained exceptional throughout the 12th century; most buildings used timber, stone, clay or wattle.
Caveats (confidence: high)
The game's use of bricks for ordinary bakeries and houses would be unusual for the period.
